ABOUT JOEL

Joel Godett became one of the nation's youngest FBS play-by-play announcers in 2012, when he was hired by Ball State University at 25 years old.

He went on to become the school's Director of Broadcasting and announce Cardinals football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and baseball on radio, online and on TV.  That television experience opened the door to begin working in national TV with CBS from 2018 to 2022 and ESPN the last two seasons.

Versatile from the start, Joel has broadcast events ranging from CrossFit to the BIG EAST field hockey championships, the Horizon League and Mid-American Conference tennis championships and the MAC wrestling championships.  He's also broadcast a lacrosse national championship win while in college at Syracuse and has experience calling gymnastics as well - including the 2021 NCAA men's gymnastics championship.

A native of Clinton, NJ, Joel graduated from Syracuse's SI Newhouse School of Public Communication with a degree in Broadcast Journalism.  He resides outside Boston, MA.

"You’re a good listen.  You sound interested in what you’re doing, and you mix info and personality well.  Keep doing what you’re doing."
